During the class of Video 1, the learning objectives are to record and edit videos using premiere pro. This is valuable to my future because I can use the skills I learn here to create commercials for local businesses or for school projects. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for Video 1 had the following learning objectives, record and edit a video PSA about conserving water. These link back to the course learning objectives by showing we know how to use premiere pro effectively. The assignment or project was about demonstrating ways people can save water. It required me to think about how to make a winning video to enter into a contest. The Process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with thinking of an idea and sketching out the scenes. Then, we chose which shot types would work with the content. After that, we planned a day where my partners and I could meet up and film the video. We set it up and filmed me and my friend’s mom washing her dog. After that, we edited the video and added music and text. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned or grown in the following ways: I put music that flows with the video content. I plan the videos out before recording them to save time. I learned more effects in premiere pro. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence of me learning how to effectively use premiere pro. This tells me the following about myself and how I learn: I learn by doing and by watching. When we needed to learn a new “trick” in premiere pro, watching Richards do it first or seeing him do it helped me out a lot instead of him just telling me how to do it. The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this Artifact are thinking critically and creatively and applying technological skills for the 21st century. I have demonstrated thinking critically and creatively in the artifact by thinking of ideas and sketches/content to record and add to the video. I thought about which shot type would work better and what music or effect would go well with the videos. This is important because I’m paying close attention to detail and thinking about how everything is affected. The Second SLO I demonstrated was applying technological skills for the 21st century. I did this by using premiere pro to edit videos and finding b roll footage online (royalty free). This is important because I know how to work with a macbook and create videos. Overall the the most important things I have learned in this class this year are to be patient when it comes to editing videos and filming because it can be stressful. I learned to add effects and make a video stand out more. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future by showing me how to be patient with my projects ad to pay attention to detail.
This is a video project we did in Video production. In this class we learn how to use Premiere Pro and how to use professional cameras to record videos and edit them after. This is important because I can now create commercials and record videos or edit videos for classes if needed to. It allows us to express our creativity and record what we'd like and edit it whichever way we prefer. I decided to go with a more calm vibe for this video and make it seem "retro". We needed to put together videos we already had recorded and edit them and also include music. I edited each clip differently. I had two different types of styles. High saturation and high contrast but also low contrast and low saturation. I did this because I couldn't choose between one style so I decided to end up doing both. I couldn't find a song that I liked to fit the video at first. I had many different choices but they didn't really go with the flow/vibe I got from the videos I included. Then, I thought about trying out the song I have and loved how they went together. I wanted the video to sort of show how it's like going to DTI and fun experiences I've had sort of "a day in the life of a DTI student" vibe. I learned how to create my own transitions instead of going and adding int he transitions Premiere Pro provides. This work told me that I was pretty patient when it came to this project. I enjoyed this project a lot and it's something I'm really proud of. I applied technological skills needed for the 21st century by using Premiere Pro to edit the content. I thought critically and creatively when it came to which type of editing I would use and to what song I would choose. These are important because you'll need them in college and also in the career I would like to pursue. I'll be using a lot of technology and will have to think critically. I'm not quite sure which SLO I could have demonstrated better. Maybe being a self directed learner since i asked a lot of people what they liked or didn't like about my video and what they thought I could change about it. Two of the most important things I learned in this class was to be patient and look at my work a lot of times before turning in the finished product. You should look at your work and pay close attention before turning it in because after we talked about our work with the whole class, we would notice mistakes we'd make that we didn't see at first and would get time in class to fix them. This happened to me a couple times especially since with photo shop you have to be careful with edges and everything. These skills will help me in the future because I know to revise everything before turning it in so I can catch my mistakes before my teacher does.
